This course teaches the essential skills required by an AED operator and gives students the confidence to know what to do in this kind of emergency.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency aid skills, or takes part in an organised first aid scheme.
Course outline:
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Participants will be taught how to open the airway, give effective rescue breaths and perform chest compressions. All learners will be given the opportunity to practise their skills on a resuscitation manikin.
Unconscious casualty
Examination of an unconscious casualty and includes placing an unconscious person in the recovery position.
Heart Disorders
Highlighting what can go wrong with the heart and what happens when a person is having a heart attack.
Application of the AED
Students will be introduced to the AED and shown how to safely use the machine with the aid of a manikin.
Duration: 5 hours
Assessment and certification:
After completing a practical assessment successful candidate receive a certificate that is valid for 1 year.
