This course covers the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner.   

Who should attend?

Ideal for anyone who may be required to take charge at an incident. This course is suitable for some Outdoor Instructor awards. The modular progressive training programme allows this Unit to be the first module of a 16 hour Outdoor First Aid course.

• Vital signs
• Incident management
• Airway management
• Breathing problems
• Circulation problems
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Drowning
• Hypothermia and Hyperthermia
• Awareness of current regulations
• Safe best practice

Assessment and certification: Students receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years.
