This course provides participants with a general introduction to the subject of conflict management/violence & aggression. It provides a basic overview of managing conflict in the workplace and concentrates on personal safety.

Those who are at risk of violence and aggression in the workplace and require knowledge of how to manage conflict.

Module A
• Identification of the problem of violence and aggression
• Policy, procedure and reporting incidents

Module B
• Personal safety and De-escalation
• Identification of personal safety factors
• Recognition of communication skills
• Recognition of trigger factors
• Legal and ethical issues
• Policy and procedures
• Post incident support

Duration: Approximately 4 hours.

Assessment and certification: This course is continually assessed. Students receive a certificate that is valid for 2 years.
